The first Malaysia Dog Olympic Day 2006 held on June 18th, 2006 at Central Park, Bandar Utama, Kuala Lumpur. The event was organized by Puppy.com.my and sponsored by Purina ProPlan. Highlights of the day include the first Schutzhund I Trial, first Agility Trial in Malaysia. Both Schutzhund and Agility Trial was judged by Mr. Phumphithak Phensrinukun (Poompitak Phensrinukun) from Bangkok, Thailand.
Also held on same day include 12 Dog Challenge Games such as Dog Olympic Run (Ultimate Record Challenge, Musical Chair Competition, Hurdle Dash Race, Amazing Dog Race, Best Canine Twin Challenge, Ultimate Sit Stay Challenge, Long Jump Competition, Dog Fastest Eating Duo, Tic Tac Toe, Leader of the Troop, Waggiest Tail Challenge, 2 x 2 Realay Competitio, Police K9 Unit Demo, A demo with a protection dog. Many dog owners took their dogs to the venue for swimming. Many of them picnic with their dog there. It was a fund day attended by more than 3000.
Also available on the same day is the Microchipping Campaign by Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL). PAWS and SPCA were also there. In additional, there were many store promote and sell dog accessories and apparel.
